The Section of Animal Nutrition and Rangeland Management (Jun.-Prof. Uta Dickhoefer) offers a Postdoctoral Position (13 TV-L, 100%) in the field of Rangeland Management and Grazing Ecology starting December 2017. The contract is for one year. There might be a possibility of a temporary extension.
The tasks will include:
· Developing research proposals and conducting research with the focus on rangeland management and plant-livestock interactions in grazing-based livestock systems;
· Contributing to English master courses on rangeland management and resource use in livestock systems; and
· Supervision of Bachelor, Master, and doctoral students.
Applicants must have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as range or grazing ecology, vegetation science, and/or ethology. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in modern approaches to study rangeland vegetation, grazing behavior, and/or the nutritional status of grazing animals. He/she demonstrates good skills in English language (both written and oral) and scientific writing. Experience in field research (in tropical countries) is advantageous.
